Building my gaming rig.

I ordered various parts for a computer I am going to build. So far I dont have the specs but I will be posting all the components when I get them. I will post results also.

Heading to town today to pick up my new 32" HD phillips television. It cost me a bit but I plan to hook up my computer once its build to it. Parts should be ariving this week I am so excited.

Have you guys built your own computers or upgraded parts lately?
This is my first time so its going to be a nice little project to work on

  7. You should have posted before you bought things so we could guide you :P I've been lusting after a 30" Ultrasharp for my desktop (1080p is for chumps :) and a 3D projector for the living room. I tried 3D on a "big screen" but I soon found out that if you can see the wall or whatever that surrounds the screen, you loose the effect immediately. I built the rig I am on right now: i7 920 w a modest OC of 3.6ghz, 12GB DDR3 1600, 1GB DX10.1 gfx card ($80 bucks, and most games are DX9 anyways) and a sweet Antec 1200 case. It has issues from time to time, but it sure is a beauty.

  8. My best advice from my opinion is avoid the ATI cards. They boast about great hardware but the software support for dual gpu is pants! This is coming from a very angry ATI 5970 user!

  9. I bought a Asus 6950 2Gb. I really hope it works out to be fine. My friend has the same ATI card but has not had any problems yet.

  10. @half Coct THats a pretty nice setup you got. 3.6Ghz is pretty dam fast. I am geting an Overclocked i7 running at 4ghz, i bought it pre-modified as i am a total noob and would only melt my computer if i tried to mess with the dials :P
